Demon Redux

Sav's brows furrowed and she exhaled a deep breath. She pulled the hood over her head and reached into the pockets of the warm fabric. Grabbing onto the silver wands, she removed them from her hoodie and put the two ends together. Suddenly, a blinding light came from the joined ends of the silver and gusts of wind circled around her until finally the two silver wands became a titanium, two-handed great sword. The blade stretched to be 160cm long, and weighed perhaps three kilograms.

Savaria's grey orbs blazed as she glanced over at Clarice. Clarice nodded and retrieved her bow as she began to walk closer to the creature until she was fully charging him. The scaled beast licked his mouth as he began to charge, but Clarice was much faster. The reptile raised his sword and pulled his shield closer to him as he thrusted forward. Little did he know, however, that he was facing a shadow. Clarice had disappeared it had seemed. Instead the opponent had been surrounded with ebony smoke and strange pollen had filled his nostrils, causing him to cease breathing before he sneezed in a downward position. Consumed in darkness, the lizard looked up for a source of light. Obliging to his hope, the cloud began to disappear. But instead of light, he saw another figure coming from the sky. With his black orbs wide-eyed, Savaria had pounced on him, feet on his chest and pushing him back. With one blow, her raised sword had pierced through the air and into his scaly neck. It felt as if it were in slow motion as Sav removed her blade and stretched back so forcefully slide it into the side of his face. As blood cascaded in a flood down the monster's skin, Clarice raised her bow in a quick and elegant fashion. Her fingers glided gracefully along an arrow until it was at the tip. With no hesitation, the eerie-black headed girl released the arrow that perforated the lizard's heart, releasing a toxin. Savaria jumped off the dying creature with her greatsword as Clarice continued firing arrows at an accelerating speed, with precise aiming until the monster had fallen to the ground, and was utterly - and beyond obviously - dead.
Savaria looked at Clarice and smiled, "Long time, no see." Sav's great sword flashed as it became silver wands once more and she caught one in the air as I fell. She put one in each pocket and walked over to Clarice who had removed her bow. "I didn't think you'd remember me." The corners of her lips moved upwards and she raised her fist. Sav raised her fist as well and they did a little bump. "This is Dorcha, she's a friend of mind." Clarice turned toward Amelia who looked as if she were studying her. "I met her a while back in the forest. She helped me when I got caught in some trouble." Clarice glance among the little group, "Don't worry, you can trust me."

As if a Miracle the lizard began to move again, light shining on his bloody and now mangled body. His finger twitched for a moment before he raised his thick head. He looked at the group, sadness in his eyes, as strength continued to flow out of his body yet again to take him back to death his hands finally unclenched from his weapons. "Why?" He asked them. "All I wanted was to get medicine for my dear Ssssynthia, now wh-" His words faded to nothing as his head fell back to the earth.
Flynn looked at the now deceased monster with sadness in his eyes. "We should, uh, go.." The small Kitsune hated sad moments, it made the air awkward and depressing. Without checking if the others were moving or not he continued on his way down the hill, away from where the lizard now lay.

Yukito watched the battle quite awkwardly, having retreated a good foot or so from the others to keep distance between him and the beast. Fighting wasn't exactly his 'forte', so to speak. He did, however, feel remorse for the lizard upon its death, as it seemed that it wasn't as malicious as he had originally guessed. He also felt a bit frightened at how quickly the burly lizard was dispatched by the two women. Yuki made a mental note not to get on their bad side.

Amelia watched in awe when Flynn created a small lizard creature out of nowhere, and thought it was such a cool magic trick when a larger one came from the forest. Still stunned, she was surprised when the new girl disappeared (hacks) momentarily. A black cloud obscured the lizard momentarily, along with Savaria, who had jumped into the fray. When the smoke cleared up a bit, the lizardman was chopped up. "Well that just happened," thought Amelia. And then she watched the shadowy girl shoot arrows into the corpse and winced. "Just a little overboard... These two seem to be strong opponents... I'll save it for later."
After listening to the final words of the lizardman, she felt depressed that he just wanted to help someone.
"Instead of leaving... We should at least make this warrior a grave. Also... Dorcha, was it? You retrieve your arrows first." said Amelia. She proceeded to dig a grave using her hands and some magic that made moving earth easier. After she finished her task, she fashioned a cross made of sticks. She then knelt down beside the lizardman and went to move him into the hole.

"...Dorcha, was it? You retrieve your arrows first." Clarice started at the sound of her name. Not again. She looked over to see a giant lizard man lying cold dead with three of her arrows protruding from his chest. From the slash marks Clarice could tell that he had already been dead when she shot him. She saw looked over and saw Amelia had already started a grave for the corpse. With nothing left she could do to repair what she had done, Clarise pulled her arrows from the body while whispering prayers for him. Then helped Amelia move him into the shallow grave and cover him.

Savaria crossed her arms and watched as they buried the dead body. She tends not to weep over anything she kills; she's a Rusalka. But, having been taught different things in her short life, she wondered why these travel companions paid respect for the dead, even though he wasn't part of their travel party. She watched on as soil was covered over him by Amelia and Clarice. As they finished, Sav walked over to Amelia and tapped her on the shoulder, "I don't understand. Why are you burying him in the ground?"

Flynn had given up on trying to walk away and was now laying back on top of the hill watching the clouds take shape as he waited for the others. "Well, he seemed to be trying to help somebody, and you did just kind of brutally murder him. I agree that its the least he deserved. Flynn had been trying to create clouds of his own whilst talking, but they all popped in a brilliant white flare as soon as they left his palm. He energetically leaped to his feet. "now that hes buried all peaceful and all, can we go? Believe it or not the small amounts of fur makes it feel awfully hot out, Nyan~" He began to whip his tails around as if to show them how bushy they were. He rotated on his heels to face the direction they were supposed to go for the town. "That way, right?"

After paying her respects to the dead (even though she knew nothing about the guy except for "Synthia") and listening to everyone's conversations, Amelia walked back up the hill to where Savaria had drawn a map. "Well yeah," she said to Flynn, "we be on our way to the town now." She squinted and scrutinized the map. "Well," she looked up, "that does seem to be in the correct direction..." She motioned for the rest of the group to follow suit.
"So, about the whole running into danger thing..." this time addressing Dorcha, "I just feel like getting to this place as soon as possible. With all of us traveling together, it'll be like a walk in the gardens!" she said enthusiastically. As she walked alongside Flynn, his tails kept brushing against her, causing her to feel giddy from FLUFFY OVERDOSE. She refused to say that she felt that way.

"Alright." Clarice sighed and walked up next to Amelia. "It is the faster route and if we all go together there is a much better chance that we will make it through in one piece." Clarice shrugged and looked around at the group and it's assorted collection. We probably will make it. Clarice watched Amelia trying to hide the way she jumped every time one of Flynn's tails brushed against her. Clarice smiled to her self and dropped back to walk with Sav at the back of the pack. As they rounded the top of the hill she looked back to where they had buried the lizard man. I surely hope that doesn't happen again. She looked at the group. Especially not now that I'm a part of something again.

As the group continued to follow Clarice the terrain changed. The simplistic plain that they had been crossing before was now a valley of sorts. It seemed as if the terrain they were about to enter started where the group now stood. What seemed to be a forty five degree slope lead into a canyon of sorts, the grass and dirt quickly turned into an almost blood red stone, gorgeous, in a creepy way. Next to the entrance to the valley was a small wooden sign, it looked like somebody had just plucked it into the dirt. "Purstinsville. 5 Miles." With a black arrow pointing into the chasm.
"Looks fun!" Flynn shouted with enthuse, he ran to where the angled slope began, getting his footing before laying down on the grass, his orb wrapped in his arms. Flynn turned horizontal to the slope and started to roll like a log, picking up momentum as he continued down into the valley. Flynn was having a ball, laughing all the way, until he hit the rocky part of course. His momentum was to high to stop, as soon as he hit the rocks he went airborne, coming inches off of the ground befor popping back onto the cold stone only to do it again. Once he reached the bottom he unfurled himself, jumping back to standing motion only to fall back on his tail. After getting his bearings back he raised both fists in the air. "Nyahah~! I wanna do it again!" He shouted up to the rest of the group. He tried to run up the incline only to slide back down the rocky slope. "Nyaww~.." He whined out loud, his tails flicking back in forth in excitement. "Common down, its fun~" Flynns tongue was almost fully hanging out of his mouth as he waited for the rest of them.

Savaria giggled for she had never seen someone so happy before. She had stared at Amelia during the whole trip and watched her as she walked next to Flynn. She wondered how close these two would get only because they seemed so friendly to each other, but Sav's mind wandered yet again to Yukito who hasn't so much as said maybe a few words. She had many questions about him, but didn't want to seem like an naive little kid so she kept her composure. However each expression she had noticed made her think that perhaps he was not used to such a big group.

Sav was so engrossed with her thoughts that she didn't notice herself bump into Clarice and then bounce off of her and into a rock. When she hit the rock, she fell on her bum and snapped out of her thoughts. Her cheeks became a pale crimson as she stood up quickly and patted the dust off her bum.

Amelia watched as Flynn rolled down the slope, observing how his tails moved as he rolled down the mountain. She became slightly worried when he hit the rocks, but he seemed just fine. She went after Flynn, but instead of rolling she decided to slide down by using her shoes, and had to run through the rocky part. When she hit the bottom, she stumbled a little bit and reasserted herself. Amelia then turned around and motioned for the others to follow suit. She took a seat on a rock and glanced at the kitsune with his tongue hanging out.

Clarice stopped to survey the landscape ahead of them when she felt someone bump into her. She turned to see Savaria sitting on the ground looking up at her a blushing profusely. She jumped to her feet obviously embarrassed by what she had done. Clarice put her hand on Savaria's back and whispered into her ear, "Don't worry no one was paying enough attention to notice." Clarice motioned with her head to where Amelia and was sitting and covertly watching Flynn and where the Kitsune was stumbling around trying to stand up straight. Savaria's head snapped around to look at Clarice, eyes glinting as if something she had been thinking had just been confirmed. Clarice gave a small nod before she noticed Savaria's eyes glancing up toward Yukito. She winked at the other girl before remembering that Savaria couldn't see her eyes through the sunglasses. Instead Clarice just shook her head and gave Savaria a slight push to start her off down the slope in front of them. Before starting down the hill, Clarice turned to look at Yukito standing a few feet away and still not looking entirely thrilled about having this many people around him. She felt compassion for his unease but that didn't mean she would let him run away. They would probably need all the help they could get soon. Clarice turned and started down the slope but slowly and indicating that the strange ice man should join them at the bottom.

Flynn looked up at the icy man, slightly confused by the fact that he was yet to come with them, yet the Kitsune turned either way, the icy man seemed slightly uncomfortable with the group and he wasint about to try and persuade the guy. Flynn spun on his heels, his tails flapping around to the side of him. He began to walk farther into the valley, a happy jump in his step and he selfishly cradled his glass orb.

Once Savaria reached the bottom of the slope, she began to follow the Kitsune. She took a few steps to catch up with his jolly stride. "Hey!" She smiled while walking briskly. She shoved her small hands into the pockets of her hoodie, and stared at his glass orb. "I hope you don't mind me asking..." She began, "But what is that glass orb?" She mimicked the bounce of Flynn's steps as she waited for an answer.

"Its myn." He eagerly claimed, his happy jump coming to an abrupt end, now replaced with a casual walk as he clutched the orb carefully. Every now and again as he walked he would eye Savaria to make sure she wasint trying to steal it.

Amelia and the group casually strolled along through the valley, and nobody really said a word for a while. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Flynn, who was cautiously watching Savaria and clutching his ball tightly. That orb must be very important to him... she thought. As they walked, Amelia contemplated life slightly and imagined what other things may await her outside the forest. Her stomach made a loud rumbling sound.
 "I'm so hungry! We should find some food to eat." she said while thinking about hunting rabbits and deer. Actually, the rumbling continued for a while after. Amelia looked up to the sides of the rocky valley and saw boulders on the tops being pushed down by several armed muscular men of varying races. Boulders slowly crept down the sides and quickly accelerated toward the group. There were about three on either side of them.
"Watch out!" she exclaimed, and quickly turned around into a dash and leapt into a roll. Two of the boulder's crashed into each other behind her, and she quickly recovered, drawing her dual blades. When she looked back up towards the bandits, they were sliding down the valley sides. Their entire group was probably a bit more than twice the size of their little traveling party. They carried weapons of varying sorts from daggers to large staffs.

As Amelia complained about her hunger, Clarice rolled her eyes underneath her glasses. Elves are always so quick to complain, she thought. The Ayah had always looked upon elves as the most spoiled and hypocritical of any people they had ever encountered. Even though living in the trees they hadn't met many other peoples, on her travels Clarice had never seen any evidence to the contrary. She had visited a few elven cities over the years, and though she had never officially been let inside, she lurked around enough to watch the people. They had to be one of the only creatures ever know to revere the forest so deeply and then slaughter it's trees for their own gain. Yet, this elf with them now seemed different, some how. She isn't as 'holier-than-thou' as most. Maybe, this one hadn't been completely brought into the fold. It would explain why she is out here, why she was alone. Maybe, like Clarice, Amelia had rejected what had been laid out for her. Just maybe they were-
"Watch out!" Amelia cried out, followed by a thunderous crash. Clarice was pulled out of her thoughts to see Amelia crouching next to a pile of rubble. She turned to see people up the slopes pushing more boulders down onto them. Caught in her thoughts, Clarice had completely missed the sound of foot steps following them along the ridge of the crevice they were in. They were at a complete disadvantage; surrounded on both sides and fighting up hill. Her left leg started to melt into a shadow only to snap back together a moment later. "Kratchka," she swore,the sun light was slowly sliding down one side, leaving one wall in slight shadow but it was still too direct where they were standing for her to shift. Clarice pulled her bow into her hands but before she could even ready an arrow she heard the rumble of a boulder right behind her. She rolled to the side just as the bolder went hurtling past her, narrowly missing her. She glared up the slope at the attackers, but even with her sunglasses it was to bright for her eyes to make out anymore that faint figures standing above them.

Savaria watched as the boulders rolled down the slopes - including the one that almost crushed Clarice - and tried to contain much rage. In case of attack, the Rusalka were to always fight the enemy with extreme prejudice and rage, which often was the result of her emotion being concealed. However, noting how most of the group was "upset" with the fact that she utterly over-killed her reptile victim, Sav wanted to hold back. Instead she did her best to dodge the boulders and make sure that she was safe... she did not want to attack and dissapoint her travel aquaintances.

Flynn had been completely dazed out, his mind was lost in an abyss of trivial matters, silly little things such as the sleek feeling of the glass sphere he had been fiddling with, and how tasty the fish he had the night before had been. However something had gotten his attention, his ears twitched and his tails began to flicker about wildly as the gargantuan sound of two massive round slabs of rock collided at colossal speed. He spun around to see the rest of his "party" looking surprised, or possibly shocked, of course there was anger in their faces as well but the young Kitsune ignored that part. His eyes darted around the rocky pathway, it was a fairly large area, the flatness of it only being broken by the common lumps of rock or uneven ground, of course the casual flatland was broken by the diagonal slopes on both sides. Flynn pieced together what had happened fairly quickly, of course way longer than it should take somebody to realize they were under attack when a group of men with weapons were running at them after throwing massive rocks off a cliff. Even more important to the young creature was the rocks. One rock in particular had somehow remained unbroken after its collision with the valley floor, but it made Flynn's eyes dazzle, it was a circle, not just any circle, but a large one, that he could touch, and climb! He did just that. He dashed the to the rock, which was wobbling in the middle of the group of travelers, he tucked his glass orb into the top of his shirt to keep it safe and began to quickly scramble to the top of the rock, taking his rightful perch at the top. With a happy expression he plopped down on the rock in a "Criss-cross applesauce" fashion, his orb between his legs for safety and his Scythe appearing gently on top of it.
"This rock is Purrfect~"
Flynn claimed with enthuse.
"But what do you think they want?"
He asked calmly to the group. He pointed a slightly crooked index finger towards the somewhat barbaric group of men running at them

Name: Koga Mordio

Age: 18

Sex: Male

Race: Kong, a race of specially born monkey like people who have developed skills of speech.They have been known to steal from unwary travelers, but have also been known to help guide them out of forests.The Kong race are a proud race even though the number of young that can be produced is only 1. Their tails have been known to push and break boulders. Kongs have even been hunted down so that their bones can be used to create a powder that can heal almost any ailment and increase strength.

Backstory: A proud member of the "Kong" race, and skilled in muay thai. Koga also has the creativity to make weapons or tools out of scraps he can find. Koga's parents died in the midst of his muay thai training. As Koga was training on the hillside he heard screams of pain coming from his sheltered bamboo shack that him and his parents had lived in. Koga ran on all fours only to see his parents with blades in their chests and the shack burnt down. Koga's father "Yasu Mordio" pointed to a boulder that was surrounded in demon warding charms and said his last words "Koga......this may look grim..but I know you will do good for this world. Break open that boulder...within the boulder lies knuckles made of jade and diamond tipped edges. Explore the world and live life away from this mountain....and Koga. Never lose hope." Koga retrieved the knuckles and buried his parents before he leaped off the cliff into the jungle in search of new places.

Appearance:

Personality: Koga is playful, intellectual, somewhat timid as well, and sometimes even Daring.

Abilities: Koga is skilled in the combat of muay thai and dabbles with the use of a staff. Koga is a fine craftsman who can make useful tools and weapons out of trash or recycled bits. Koga has also conditioned his body to lift 4 times his own weight and can leap high in the air if need be.

Favored Weapon Class: Kong uses a variety of weapons such as Staffs, knuckles, bare fists, feet, and even his tail in dangerous situations.

Starting Equipment: 4 pieces of stale bread, a bamboo staff,and a diamond edged jade knuckles.

Trivia: Koga is wearing clothes even though you may speculate he wouldn't as he is a monkey. He carries a scarf along with him that has words of wisdom written throughout it in a sacred language not even Koga knows....but...there is one word he is sure on his scarf....and that word is "hope". Koga cherishes his knuckles given to him by his parents and some people who have seen him have said that he even talks to it sometimes.

The ground behind Amelia began to rupture and Koga popped out of the ground and landed with fists curled on ground like an ape. Koga then casually flicked the dirt from his tail at Amelia and took out a map. Koga looked over the map and reached into a makeshift sack to grab a piece of stale bread and gnawing on the hardened bread. Koga put away his map and bread in the sack. Koga looked behind him to see Amelia weapons drawn and a shocked look on her face.

"Oh, well hello there elf woman. Wow the craftsman ship on you'r blades is amazing! You must tell me where you got them! But first I see some trouble I could probably help you out with." said Koga ever so casually.

Koga pulled out a small but thick stick of bamboo with a button in the center. Koga pushed the button and suddenly the bamboo shot out longer pieces of bamboo still connected forming a long staff. "Lets get this party started shall we! -MONKEY SCREECH-" Koga leaped into the air and slammed down in front of the barbaric group of men. "Buenos dias, can I introduce you fine men into a once in a lifetime chance for a 1 stop trip to pound town?"

Amelia noticed the ground shifting behind her and quickly spun around into a stance where she could see both the bandits and the strange monkey creature that appeared behind her. She raised an eyebrow in question of the random newcomer who had popped out behind her. She first thought it to be a bandit that had thought to get the jump on her, but let it go when it pulled out a map. Still, Amelia kept her guard up. She sputtered and spat in irritation when dirt was flicked into her face.
The clothed monkey then offered his assistance after complimenting how nice her swords were. "I guess I can't really turn down your offer..." she seemingly muttered to herself. "But we'll have a chat after this is over." Amelia then leaped towards monkey-man to keep him in her sight, which was totally unnecessary as he screeched and jumped into the crowd of bandits.
"What a wild figure..." she thought. She considered shooting at them with her arrows, but then thought that her allies would get caught in the crossfire. Instead, she circled around to the left side of the bandits from man-monkey and took a somewhat casual stance, intending to counterattack an enemy if they decided to strike.

Flynn made no effort to move from perch on the rock. To prove his point of not leaving his perfectly spherical mount he lied down on it, the arch of his back molding to fit the smooth surface of the stone as his head dangled upside down watching the battle unfold. None of the bandits were bugging him, why bother when he could instead spent his time wisely and bond with this fantastic boulder. Occasionally his hands would fondle the sleek surface of his glass orb, his scythe laying balanced on his stomach.

The bandits stared at Koga momentarily dazed by the outright nature of the monkey man in front of them. From one of the bandits in the back of the group a voice was heard, it was slow and brutish, the man which it came from probably had a lacking intelligence.
"Uhh, no thank you. But gold would be nice!"
Without another word the Bandits spread out as if somebody had thrown a grenade into the middle of them. The raid had obviously been planned, the Bandits each knew what job they had and which person to cover. Two people began to encircle Amelia, another two on Koga. Only one Bandit went to each Flynn, Savaria and Clarice. The bandits' had scouted before the battle, probably decided to only put one person on Flynn Savaria and Clarice because they looked the most fragile.

Flynn stood up from his nonchalant position, easily balancing on the large smooth rock, starring down at the bandit, neither did anything, seemingly just a starring contest. It was most likely the less educated bandit that had spoken earlier.
